​​ORIGINS IN DESIGN

​​

John trained as an industrial designer, earning an MSc and BSc along the way, with the second year of his degree spent in France at the European Institute of Design — creating three healthcare and hygiene devices: an intravenous fluid warmer, a safety needle (since patented) and a hand sanitiser dispenser now in use across hospitals, medical centres, stadiums and public spaces.

INTO ENGINEERING

​

His career then moved into engineering at Siemens Metering, remaining through its 2002 sale and relaunch as Landis+Gyr. A fire at the Siemens production site in 2001 wiped out half the factory; shipments were moving again within four weeks, and John then managed the relocation of the ultrasonic gas meter line to Telford and the Digital electric meter line to Corinth, Greece. That grounding in how a factory floor and a supply chain actually run has stayed central to his approach: starting with how work and value flow operationally, and letting the organisation design follow from that — not the other way round.

ELEVEN YEARS AT PWC

​​

Eleven years at PwC, across Assurance — focused on process and general computing controls — and Consulting, saw him manage large-scale transformation and performance-improvement programmes for private and public sector clients across the UK, Europe and the US, heading cross-border teams of up to 50 consultants. Alongside that client work, he trained and mentored PwC consultants in Lean Six Sigma and the firm’s process-mapping and operating-model methods, shaping the practical, structured approach to process classification and design that still underpins 600 Consulting’s work today.

SINCE 2014

​

Since founding 600 Consulting in 2014, he has led transformation, M&A transition and operating model programmes for organisations from PE-backed real estate and major retail to global technology and not-for-profit — including a seven-country operating model redesign for a private equity-backed commercial real estate business and the integration PMO for a multibillion-dollar FMCG acquisition. ​STAYING CURRENT

​

In 2025, John completed the Artificial Intelligence Programme at Oxford’s Saïd Business School, adding a practical understanding of AI implementation to a methodology grounded in Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt and PRINCE2 — helping clients build operating models and process architectures that are ready for automation and AI, not just for today’s ways of working.

John is based in Buckinghamshire and takes on engagements across London, the UK and internationally.
